Report: This was my first full day in high altitude, coming from sea level on the west coast the day before. I had to take the 2nd half of the hike pretty slowly since it was steeper and I was not yet acclimated. Biggest reward for me was making it to the Continental Divide and overlooking the bowl where Pear Lake sits. There's an outhouse at Clohesy Lake. Wagon wheel or other vehicle marks going up to the Continental Divide.
Conditions: No snow directly on the Trail. Snow on the east side of the mountains, visible looking west from the Trail. A bit muddy and water to jump over in a few places. Mostly dry, though. I got 3 or 4 mosquito bites, even after spraying. Shady going throught the trees but exposed to sun otherwise.
Water Availability: About a liter per person. Was enough, but I drank all mine just before getting back to our Jeep at the end of the hike.
Recommended Clothing: Long, light-weight hiking pants, light colors to reflect sun, hat, short or long sleeves, bug spray, sun block, good footwear, water proof/resistant.

Clear Creek General Forest Area - Clear Creek offers unique recreation opportunities and history. Clear Creek Reservoir has public fishing, boating and camping accesses.
Clohesy's Lake Four-Wheel Drive Road - This road is a fork from Clear Creek Road that leads to Clohesy's Lake with hiker access to Pear Lake. Clohesy's Lake Road is recommended for high clearance vehicles only as it is extremely rough.
Sheep Gulch Trail - Sheep Gulch Trail also harbors traffic of the Colorado Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. Hope Pass offers extraordinary views of the Collegiate Peaks with exceptional views of Missouri Mountain, Mt. Belford, Mt. Oxford and Huron Peak.
Vicksburg Historic Site - Vicksburg became a mining camp during the last decades of the Nineteenth Century. It's prosperity didn't last long and most of the residents moved from the area for more profitable mining.
Winfield Historic Site - Once a thriving silver and copper mining town, Winfield now claims it's fame as a Colorado ghost town. The schoolhouse, cemetery and church have been restored by volunteers.
