O'Haver Lake is a small 15 acre reservoir where the whole family can enjoy a day of fishing and camping surrounded by tall pine trees. Because of it's popularity, the campground is usually filled by early afternoon. The campground has 29 sites some of which accommodate trailers up to 22 feet. Reservations are accepted for 17 sites. Sites 9, 12, 19, 20, 22, 24-26, 28 and 29 are lake side. Sites 10 and 11 are across the road from the wheelchair accessible fishing pier, and site 13 is not shady. The services provided are drinking water, vault toilets, tables, fire grates and garbage dumpsters. No hookups are available. Fishing is a star attraction at O'Haver Lake, which has a wheelchair accessible pier. If the lake is too crowded Silver Creek and Poncha Creek are also close. Hikers may gain access to the Rainbow Trail, Colorado Trail and Continental Divide Trail at Marshall Pass (west of the campground). The closest four-wheeling opportunities are Poncha a Creek Road and Silver Creek Road, which are very popular. The aspen trees in the fall are spectacular in this area.
Directions from Poncha Springs: Travel south on Highway 285 for 5 miles, or until you reach County Road 200. Turn right on to County Road 200 for 2.3 miles. Look for County Road 202 and turn west on it and drive for 1.5 miles to the campground.
