St. Charles Trail is a popular, but steep motorized trail where ATVs are not permitted. Horses are not allowed either. It is maintained mostly by a dirt bike association in Pueblo. The environment is rather lush. The trail goes over St. Charles Peak, the second highest peak in the Wet Mountains.
From Lake Isabel, go to the Cisneros Trailhead. About 1 mile up Cisneros Trail will be the junction with St. Charles Trail. Turn right past old Marion Mine.

Directions from Highway 165: On Highway 165, 2 miles south of Bishop Castle and 4 miles north of the entrance for Lake Isabel you will find the trail beginning. It heads southwest.
