General Description

Foresters Trail, #701, is open to foot, bike and motorized traffic. Located in the beautiful Cheyenne Canyon, this trail leads to or begins in the Frosty Park area. From the Jones Park Trail to Frosty Park is 4.0 miles with a moderate level of difficulty.


Directions from Colorado Springs: Take the Old Stage Road out of the city to the Gold Camp Road and drive about 1.5 miles passed the turnoff for Wye Campground. Turn right on to Frosty Park Road (379). Travel 1.5 miles north on Frosty Park Road (FDR 379) to Foresters Trail (701) begins. About one-eighth of a mile down this trail FDT #668/Pipeline takes off to the right.

Directions from Jones Park Trail: Foresters Trail will be the third trail that leads to the left from Jones Park Trail. It is close to 1.5 miles before the dead end.

Jones Park Trail - The Jones Park Trail, also known as "Cap'n Jacks", is a locals favorite. It extends 6 miles from Forest Road 380 to a dead end at 10,100'.

Pipeline Trail - Pipeline Trail (668) leads 3 miles from Forest Developed Road 667 to trail 701, Foresters Trail. The trail is open to foot, bike, horse, ATV and motorcycle traffic.
