Every visitor, no matter their physical challenges, can experience nature on the Braille and Discovery Trails near Aspen. Use all your senses on the Braille Trail, a one-mile loop trail designed in 1961 specifically for visually impaired visitors. Interpretive signs along the route in both Braille and print invite you to taste the crisp mountain air while you try to smell the subtle differences between the scent of pine and fir. Feel the differences in terrain as you listen to the rushing waters of the Roaring Fork River. The Discovery Trail, built in 2000, offers a similar experience while providing wheelchair access. Guide ropes lead you along both paths.
