Independence Pass is located it the Rocky Mountains
and connects the towns of Aspen Colorado and Twin
Lakes. The Independence Pass Overlook Trail is
located just off Highway 82 at the summit. This
trail is located on the Continental Divide and
offers views of the Sawatch Range and the east of
Mount Elbert. This overlook
trail also offers braille interpretive signs for the
visually impaired. Independence pass is only open
during the summer months and is a popular
destination for travelers.
Directions from Aspen: Head east on Highway 82. The summit is approximately
19 miles up.
