General Description

The trail ascends to the ridge between Beaver Creek and West Mamm. The next half mile is very steep and has a number of switchbacks. The remainder of the trail slopes gently to West Mamm Trailhead. The trail also continues toward Mud Hill which is approximately 13 miles.

Directions from Rifle: Go south on County Road 317 for approximately 7 miles to the Beaver Creek trailhead.

Seasonal Information:
summer : late spring to fall through fall (NOTE: winter storms can be severe at the higher altitude) .

Ranger TipBattlement Reservoirs (#2160)- access from Parachute. Moderate to difficult, 2 miles to top with a 2,000 foot elevation gain. Chain of seven lakes in pristine mountain setting.

Report: If you use the directions provided by the FS you will end up in Roullison. Take a left on CR 317 to the trail head. From the turnoff onto cr317 it is about 6 miles. The trail is good, if you can find it.
