General Description

TRAIL BEGINS: About 1/2 mile north of the West Dell Creek trailhead #128.

TRAIL ENDS: About 1/4 mile north of the spring on Dell Creek, just inside the Wilderness boundary.

ATTRACTIONS: This trail provides a good overview of Dell Creek, which provides ample water and great views of alpine areas of the Gros Ventre range. NOTE: all of this trail is in either the Shoal Creek Wilderness Study Area or the Gros Ventre Wilderness. Check Travel Plan Map.

Directions from US Hwy. 191-189: About 1 mile west of the Hoback Guard Station turn northeast onto Dell Creek Road (Forest Road #30600). Turn north onto the Riling Draw road and to through the two gates on private land and onto the Forest. Turn right (northeast) just after the second gate and continue to the third drainage east (House Creek), where you will have to park your vehicle and continue around private land to the end of the road and the West Dell Creek trailhead.

Rock Creek Trail - This trail leads up Rock Creek, past Tin Can Park, to Shoal Creek. The trail offers good views of the Sawtooth of the Gros Ventre Range.
