General Description

TRAIL BEGINS: North side of Gros Ventre Road, 2 miles east of Atherton Campground

TRAIL ENDS: Carmichael Fork of Slate Creek

ATTRACTIONS: This trail offers access to Slate Creek and Ditch Creek drainages.

Directions from Jackson: Follow Hwy. 191 north and make a right on Gros Ventre Road. Go past Atherton Campground approximately 2 miles to Horsetail Creek. Parking available at trailhead and dispersed camping area across road.

Atherton Creek Campground - This campground is located about 18 miles from Jackson, at Lower Slide Lake. The lake offers boating, fishing and sail boarding.

North Fork of Ditch Creek/Slate Creek Trail - This is a route through to Gros Ventre River drainage. It starts at the confluence of Middle and North Forks of Ditch Creek and ends at the mouth of Slate Creek.
