El Cariso North Campground offers 24 first-come, first-served campsites. The campground is located adjacent to the Ortega Highway, 25 east of San Juan Capistrano and 5 miles west of Lake Elsinore. Campsites provide water, fire rings, tables, pedestal grills, parking spurs and pit toilets. Maximum RV length is 22'. Supplies are available in San Juan Capistrano, Lake Elsinore and El Cariso Village. Visitors should check bulletin boards for activities in campgrounds or stop by the El Cariso Visitor Information Center in the El Cariso Fire Station complex on Ortega Highway. Two favorite nearby walks for families are the El Cariso Nature Trail, a 1.5 mile loop that begins at the El Cariso Fire Station and the San Juan Loop that begins off the Ortego Highway across from the Country Cottage Candy Store.
