Report: I've camped the Hwy88 corridor for 30+ years in more remote/undeveloped sites, but this to be the BEST place to camp w/my young children (2&5yrs). Sites 7,8,9 are set away from the road - kids feel like they're really "camping.Only 5 sites occupied during our stay (Mon-Wed 7/11-14). Great hikes for all!
Conditions: Must haves: wide brim hat, sunscreen, lip balm, lotion, and bug repellent. Good shade in campground, but some trails are very exposed. Mosquitos voracious at dusk, mild during the day.
Water Availability: EXCELLENT! Spigots everywhere. They are designated "drinking only" no washing etc.
