General Description

Sitting at an elevation of 6,378 feet, North Shore RV Campground is located in Crystal Basin and provides close access to Loon Lake. Visitors participate in activities such as boating, fishing, swimming, and scenic viewing.

The California Department of Fish and Game plant rainbow trout every other week, May through August, in Loon Lake. The lake is accessible year-round, however, ice fishing is not recommended due to fluctuating water levels.

On site facilities: 5 units for self-contained vehicles, wheelchair accessible vault toilets and picnic tables.

Directions from Pacific: Take Highway 50 east until the junction with Ice House Road. Travel north along Ice House Road for 29 miles. The site is located on the northwest shore of Loon Lake and close to the Loon Lake Equestrian Camp.
