Sitting at an elevation of 6,500 feet, the Pleasant Boat-In Campground is located in Crystal Basin and provides access to Loon Lake. Visitors would be able to participate in activities such as boating, fishing, swimming and picnicking. It should be noted that the site can only be reached via boat or trail.
The California Department of Fish and Game plant rainbow trout every other week, May through August, in Loon Lake. The lake is accessible year-round, however, ice fishing is not recommended due to fluctuating water levels.
On site facilities: 10 camping units, stream water, primitive toilets and picnic tables.
Directions from Pacific: Take Highway 50 east until the junction with Ice House Road. Travel north along Ice House Road for 29 miles. The site is located on the northern tip of Loon Lake in the Crystal Basin. The site may be reached by boat or trail from the Loon Lake boat ramp, approximate distance 2.5 miles.
