General Description

Sitting at an elevation of 4,800 feet, China Flat Picnic Ground can be located on the Silver Fork of the American River. In addition to offering picnicking facilities, the site provides close access for fishing, swimming and camping.

Brown trout are resident in the Silver Fork of the American River. Catchable rainbow trout are stocked every other week by California Dept. of Fish and Game from opening of season through July. Season runs from last Saturday in April through November 15th.

On site facilities: 4 picnic units and vault toilets. The site is wheelchair accessible. There is a grocery store within five miles of the area.

Directions from Pacific: Take Highway 50 east. At Kyburz turn off the Highway onto the Silver Fork Road. Travel three miles to China Flat Campground on the Silver Fork of the American River.
