General Description

Falls Day Use is part of the Lower Santa Ynez Recreation Area. The site has a small dirt parking area next to the river. The site has shady oak trees, sandstone cliffs, and beautiful sandy beaches. There are deep swimming holes in the river beside the cliffs. Fishing, hiking, and mountain biking are other site pastimes.

Four picnic units include tables, barbecues, garbage gins, and portable restrooms. Bring drinking water. The site is open all year on a first-come, first-served basis. Seasonal road closure may occur due to high water level on river crossings.

Note: Trout is planted in the springtime. Watch out for poison oak.

Directions from Santa Barbara, CA: Take Highway 101, 10 miles northwest on Highway 154, 8.3 miles east on Paradise Rd.
