General Description

Bachs Creek Trail is a moderately difficult 2.4 mile trail at an elevation of 4,800 feet. This trail's destination is Bach Creek and is narrow and requires rigorous hiking with steep ground. It can get hot in the summer and the hiking time is 1 and 1/2 hours in and 3 hours out.

Directions from Quincy: Travel east for 3.9 miles to LaPorte Road turnoff. Turn right and drive 7.3 miles. Turn right onto gravel road (23N92.) The sign states Lost Cabin Springs and Middle Fork Trails. Proceeds 2.1 miles to Y and take the left fork (23N92A) for 1 mile to Lost Cabin Springs. Follow signing here to trailheads. Four-wheel drive is recommended.

Lost Cabin Springs Trail - The Lost Cabin Springs Trail is a 0.8 mile long and extremely steep trail at an elevation of 3,800 feet. There is limited camping at the river, and the there is good fishing and swimming.

Lost Cabin/ Bachs Creek Trailhead - This trailhead is located approximately 5 miles south of Quincy at an elevation of 3,800 feet. This trailhead provides access to Lost Cabin Springs Trail and the Bachs Creek Trail.
