General Description

Riggs Lake Trail follows the eastern edge of a harvest unit before entering a spruce and fir forest that offers a pleasant setting for camping and fishing. You can also take an unmaintained 0.5 mile trail up to Don Lake

Directions from Sweet Home: Travel east on Hwy. #20 for 45 miles to Hwy. #22. Turn left and follow for 7.5 miles to Forest Road 2266 (Parish Lake Road) and turn left. Continue on forest Road 2266 for 6.5 miles to the Riggs Lake trailhead on the right.

Report: The lake was beautiful,but the trail does not appear to have had any maintenance in quite some time,there are several large logs across the trail!!!Also,the elevation gain is quite a bit more than 20 feet,closer to 100 feet would be my guess.
Conditions: Very dry,with exception of one small muddy spot on far side of lake.several large logs accross trail.Lots of bugs.Not much shade on lake shore.
Water Availability: One bottle per person was plenty.There is a small stream on the far side of the lake.
Suggested Accessories: Insect repellant is a most.Fishing pole.
