General Description

The Hehe Trail (#3475) is a moderate 1 mile hike. This trail to an old lookout site was reopened in 1995, by volunteers who adopted the trail. It climbs back and forth up to the ridge line, in the shade of stately and wind blown conifers. Through the tree branches on top, you have a view of private and National Forest lands, down to the Willamette Valley. The clear, crisp air up here makes the long drive worth it.

Directions from Lowell: Continue through town, and take the Lowell/Jasper road to the Unity Bridge, turnleft. Continue along the North Shore road, which turns into Forest Road 18, all the way to Wagon Wheel junction (FRS 18, 1832, 2619 and 1846), approximately 29 miles. Turn left onto FR 1832 and go west three miles to just west of FR 1832-112 ; trail takes off on the right.
