Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, oil stove for heat and an outside toilet. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. Oil stove uses #1 stove oil (#1 diesel) to be supplied by user, for list of stove oil suppliers for the Juneau and Skagway area call (907) 586-8800. Fuel consumption is approximately 1 gal/day with stove on low setting. Cabin furniture, toilet, deck and beach trail are accessible for wheelchairs. There are NO discounts for Golden Age or Golden Passports. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1-Sept 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1-April 30
You may reserve this cabin on the day of arrival, or up to 180 days in advance. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. The person holding the reservation must be a member of the party using the cabin. Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is NOT allowed. Stream water must be boiled or treated before drinking. All garbage and food must be packed out.
Directions: 26 miles northeast of Juneau on East shore of Taku Inlet. Access by shallow draft boat or floatplane. 12' or higher tide recommended. The cabin is in the trees approx 1 mile south of Taku Point and north Davidson Creek, directly across the inlet from Gizzly Bar.
