Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, oil stove for heat and an outside toilet. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. Area is open MUSKEG with DENSE alder. Cabin cannot be used for commercial use.
Same day reservations are allowed for this cabin. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. Bring #1 oil for the stove that heats the cabin. There are NO discounts for Golden Age and Golden Access Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. The person holding the reservation must be 18 and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is NOT allowed. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30. All garbage and food must be packed out.
Directions: Seventeen miles east of Yakutat, this cabin is on an 1800' airstrip, one mile by trail from the Dangerous River. Alternate access by jetboat 11 miles from the Dangerous River Bridge on Forest Highway 10, then 1 mile by trail (need hipboots) to cabin.
