The Butte Lake Campground lies at an elevation of 6,100 feet west of Butte Lake in the northeastern portion of the park. The site is accessible by a dirt road six miles south of Highway 44. It consists of 101 individual campsites available on a first come, first served basis.
Each campsite consists of a fire pit and picnic table. Campground amenities include portable toilets and garbage collection. Campers will enjoy a close proximity to hiking, backpacking, fishing, hand-propelled boating and swimming opportunities.
Directions from Northwest Entrance: Drive northward on Highway 89 to Old Station. Turn eastward on Highway 44 at Old Station and drive to the turnoff for Butte Lake, approximately 12 miles. Turn right on the Butte Lake Road and travel six miles to the campground.
