Bushay Campground is located at Lake Mendocino in the northern coast range of California where redwood forests meet the wine country. The valley which was once home to Pomo Indians, ranchers, and farmers, now offers many recreation opportunities for outdoor enjoyment. Bushay offers over 100 individual campsites and 3 group camping areas, all with no hook ups. Trails to the water, picnic tables, picnic shelters, boat launch, public marina, and a snack bar are all in the vicinity of the recreation area. In addition, there is an amphitheater in the campground with summer evening shows on Fridays and Saturdays.
New this year, check-out time is 11am and check-in is 1pm. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. No horses on trail, except through access at south end of lake. No dogs in swim beach area, Pomo A & B, but are permitted elsewhere on a 6 foot leash. People with unleashed dogs will be cited. Sites with overnight disturbance complaints are grounds for eviction. When making multiple reservations, you must arrive first to inform host of the names of occupants in your additional sites. Please register for the campsite during booth hours 7:30 AM to 10:15 PM No extra vehicles are allowed. No ATV"s or ORV's allowed. Campers must have permit or pass before camping. Available at campground host booth. All equipment must fit on site pad. Vehicles park in developed areas only. There is no electricity, water or sewer site hook-ups at this campground Reservations must be made 4 days in advance.
Directions: From Ukiah, CA: Take Highway 20 east for 5 miles. After crossing Russian River bridge turn left. Continue for 1 mile to the top of the hill following signs into the campground.
