Paynes Prairie State Preserve has a full-service campground suitable for both tents and RVs up to 40 feet in length. There are 35 RV sites, some with raised tent pads. There are also 15 rustic tent sites available at Puc Puggy Campground near Lake Wauberg. All RV sites come equipped with water, electric hookup, picnic table, and lantern post. The sites are handicapped accessible. The campground has modern restrooms, showers, and nearby dump station. No pets are permitted in the campground. Tent sites are short walk-in from the parking lot. Each site has a lantern post, picnic table with water and electric centrally located.
The park does accept reservations up to 11 months in advance. They take Master Card, Visa, Discover, personal checks and cash
Directions from Gainesville, FL: Travel south on Interstate 75. Take exit 75 heading east to U.S. Highway 441. Travel north a short distance to reach the preserve. The campground is the first road on the left past the entrance station.
