Longdale Campground is located at Canton Lake in northwest Oklahoma on the North Canadian River, 2-1/2 miles from the town of Canton. Canton Lake plays host to a large number of campers, picnickers, boaters, fishermen and hunters every year. It is one of the few places that offer these types of recreational opportunities in western Oklahoma. Canton Lake is known for its fishing opportunities, especially walleye fishing. The Canton Lake "Walleye Rodeo" is held in May and draws thousands of visitors to the area. The campground is popular with those lake visitors who don't need electricity at their campsites but are seeking easy fishing access from shoreline. Visitor attractions at Longdale include two boat ramps, a large picnic shelter, and several campsites located next to the water.*Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.* This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends and a 3 day minimum on holiday weekends for family sites. The campground is open all year. An attendant is on duty April 1-Sept.10. Sites are $7/night April 1- Oct.31. A self deposit fee collection system is used in Sept. and Oct. when the attendant is not on duty. Due to water being turned off there will be no fee charged Nov. 1 thru March 31. Reservations are only available May 1- Sept. 10. A maximum of 2 camping units will be allowed per site. Only one wheeled camping unit (motor home, trailer, pop-up, etc.) will be allowed per site. At no time will the maximum number of camping units exceed 2. Campsites only allow for 1 RV and 2 car parking. The campground telephone number is (580) 274-3454. Directions: From Canton, OK: go west on HWY 51 .2 miles to HWY 51/58 intersection, go north on HWY 58 for 6 miles to the south city limits of Longdale. Turn left on a paved county road and continue for 2 miles to campground entrance. Traveling west of Oklahoma City, OK on Interstate 40, exit Interstate Route 270 north to Interstate Route 281 to Watonga.
