Description - The Blue River Ranger District offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are over 28 trails to hike or horseback ride on. Mountain biking is permitted on many of these trail. There are 10 campgrounds which provide access to many regions of the Forest. For picnicking and other day use activities there are 6 areas to enjoy.

- For hiking there are the Castle Rock Trail, the Delta Nature Trail, the East Fork Trail and the Buck Mountain Trail. For picnicking and other day use activities there are the Delta Day Use Area, the Cougar Crossing Day Use Area, the Echo/East Fork Day Use Area and the Lookout Day Use Area. For camping there are the Lookout Campground, the Slide Creek Campground, the Sunnyside Campground and the Mona Campground. Scenic sites to see are the Cougar Crossing Reservoir, Box Canyon, Buck Mountain, Carpenter Mountain, Pyramids Mountain and Rebel Rock.
Recreation - This Ranger District offers, hiking, mountain biking, viewing wildlife and scenery, picnicking, camping and scenic byways Climate - Elevations on the Forest range from about 1,500 feet above sea level to 10,495 feet at the snowcapped top of Mt. Jefferson, Oregon's second highest peak. Climate on the Willamette changes with elevation. The area receives a high amount of precipitation. Much of the precipitation comes from October to April in the form of rain at the low elevations and as wet heavy snow in the higher elevations. Although snow is possible in the lowest elevations, it is infrequent. Late spring, summer and early autumn tend to bring clear, sunny days with moderate temperatures. Location -
