Description - Of the 29,500 acres inundated by the Millwood Lake, approximately 6,000 acres are cleared. On the remaining 23,500 acres, the dense growth of timber and brush was left standing, providing an excellent habitat for the wide variety of fish native to this area.
- Millwood Lake offers excellent year-round fishing, camping, hiking, and boating in the lowlands of southwestern Arkansas. Cleared boat lanes, old roads and creek and river channels provide access to the favorite fishing places on the lake.

Climate - Arkansas has a temperate climate with the coldest temperatures near freezing during December, January and February. Daytime highs for these months usually reach 55 degrees F. Spring and fall temperatures are very mild with lows dipping to 44 degrees F and highs reaching 70 degrees F. July and August are the hottest months of the year with average temperatures reaching 90 degrees F. June and September average temperatures usually reach into the mid-eighties. Spring and winter months are the wettest of the year.
Millwood Lake is located on Arkansas Hwy. 32, nine miles east of Ashdown, in the lowlands of southwestern Arkansas. From Texarkana, go 16 miles north on US 59-71, then nine miles east of Ashdown on Arkansas Hwy. 32.
