Description - Cradled by the bluffs of the War Eagle River in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, Withrow Springs State Park is a peaceful setting for camping and quiet river floats.

Attractions - The 25 campsites lie near a spring flowing from a small cave. Other facilities include picnic sites, pavilions, a snack bar and gift shop. Hiking trails lead along hillsides, ravines, ridges, and the river.

Recreation - Recreational opportunities at Withrow Springs State Park include camping, hiking, picnicking, swimming, tennis, baseball and softball, a crossbow range, and river fishing for catfish, bream, perch, and bass. Canoes and shuttle service are available.

Climate - Arkansas has a temperate climate with the coldest temperatures near freezing during December, January and February. Daytime highs for these months usually reach 55 degrees F. Spring and fall temperatures are very mild with lows dipping to 44 degrees F and highs reaching 70 degrees F. July and August are the hottest months of the year with average temperatures reaching 90 degrees F. June and September average temperatures usually reach into the mid-eighties. Spring and winter months are the wettest of the year.

Location - Withrow Springs State Park is located in the Ozark Mountains Region of northwestern Arkansas. The park is found five miles north of Huntsville on
Arkansas Hwy. 23.
