Description - Located between the junction of State Route 55 and the east city limits of Anaheim, this State Scenic Highway runs along the banks of the Santa Ana River. Views include residential and commercial development with intermittent riparian and chaparral vegetation.
Attractions
- Route 91 -- Riverside Freeway has some suburban development within the corridor. However, the predominate view is of groves of cottonwood and oak trees along the banks of the Santa Ana River with distant views of chaparral covered hillsides. The eastern portion of the route lies in the floor of the Santa Ana River canyon adjacent to an Orange County recreational area. Visitor services are located in the towns near the highway.
Recreation - The Route 91--Riverside Freeway is known for it's cultural and recreational attractions. Climate - A warm, dry Mediterranean climate prevails over Southern California - inland it is hot in the summer, mild in the winter. Coastal areas have a more moderate climate with frequent fog in the summer. Most of the precipitation comes as rain during the winter months. The best seasons to visit are spring and fall but with the generally mild climate, outdoor activities are available year-round in Southern California. Location -
