Description - The Joshua Forest Scenic Road was designated on April 20, 1992, by the Arizona Department of Transportation. Along the route is the backdrop of rugged mountain ranges, the Hualapai Mountains and Aquarius Cliffs. The road winds through the granite formations and the many creeks and rivers. The main sources of water in the area are the Big Sandy River, Burro Creek and Santa Maria River. The road then goes through a large boulder field. From the Santa Maria River, the road enters the Joshua Forest Parkway, which is lined with the infamous Joshua Tree.

Directions from : The road itself: The road begins at the town of Wikieup and travels south on U.S. Route 93 towards Wickenburg. The designated portion ends before U.S. 93 bisects S.R. 71. Signs along the road designate the scenic portion. How to get to the road: From Flagstaff, travel west on Interstate 40 then turn south onto U.S. 93 to Wikieup where the scenic route starts.
