General Information

Description - Route 182 lies in Maine's "Downeast" section of Washington and Hancock Counties. This area is known for its blueberry barrens, rugged granite coastline and unspoiled New England character. Route 182 is just inland from the coast and provides the visitor with an alternative to U.S. Route 1. This route has outstanding viewsheds of mountainous terrain with exposed granite ledges as well as scenic turnouts for water and trail access to numerous lakes and ponds along its corridor.

Attractions - The State Route 182 is known for it's Natural, Recreational and Scenic Attractions.

Beginning at the Franklin-T9 SD town line on State Route 182 and extending easterly to the Maine Central Railroad tracks in Cherryfield (0.8 mile west of the junction of State Route 182 and U.S. Route 1).
