Description - Route 182 lies in Maine's "Downeast" section of Washington and Hancock Counties. This area is known for its blueberry barrens, rugged granite coastline and unspoiled New England character. Route 182 is just inland from the coast and provides the visitor with an alternative to U.S. Route 1. This route has outstanding viewsheds of mountainous terrain with exposed granite ledges as well as scenic turnouts for water and trail access to numerous lakes and ponds along its corridor.
