General Information

Description - One of the best ways to experience Nevada is to travel Highway 50 -- the so-called "Loneliest Road in America."Highway 50 roughly parallels the Pony Express Trail, which goes from Silver Springs through Fallon and along the towns across Highway 50. Stretching the width of Nevada, Highway 50 is a fascinating scenic and historic corridor through a land seemingly untouched by man.

Attractions - The Loneliest Road in America is known for it's Cultural, Historical and Natural Attractions.

Directions from : The highway can be accessed from various locations:

  • From Las Vegas take US 95 north and meet up with Highway 50 in Fallon.
  • From Carson City access the highway by taking US 395 south to Highway 50 East. At the Junction of Highway 50 and Alt. Highway 50 one can go west to Fernley or east to Fallon.
  • From Reno take I-80 East to Alt. Highway 50 in Fernley.
  • Once on the highway, follow it east or west, depending on which end you start from.
