Description - The Pend Oreille Scenic Byway starts in the resort town of Sandpoint and snakes its way along the north end of Lake Pend Oreille on Idaho 200 to the Montana state line. Pulling off the road to enjoy Lake Pend Oreille, anglers will find more than 14 different species of game fish, including the state's record 32-pound bull trout. If you're the kind of person who loves the water but gets squeamish at the mere thought of baiting a hook, don't worry. Lake Pend Oreille also offers alternative activities like boating, water skiing and hiking/walking trails in which you can enjoy the water and the lush, green mountain view.

Directions from : The route begins at the junction of U.S. 95 north of Sandpoint and follows SH-200 easterly to the Montana state line. This route offers travelers a panoramic view of the northern rim of Lake Pend Oreille and the Cabinet Gorge.
