General Information

Description - This winding route takes you through some of the most beautiful areas of Northern New Mexico. View alpine valleys, wild flowers, clear blue lakes, evergreen forests, and historic western communities. The route circles the states highest mountain, Wheeler Peak.

Attractions - The Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway is known for it's Cultural, Historical, Natural, Recreational and Scenic Attractions.

Directions from : Heading north from Taos, follow NM 522 to NM 38 east/south to NM 64 south/west to Taos.

New Mexico Scenic Byways - New Mexico boasts numerous scenic byways and historic trails, six of which are national level byways. Billy the Kid Trail, El Camino Real, Historic Route 66, Jemez Mountain Trail, Santa Fe Trail and Turquoise Trail are all National Scenic Byways in New Mexico.
