General Information

Description - The area's 273 lakes and ponds give the landscape's rolling hills a brilliant blue radiance. Also, the New England autumn is perfected here, as the heaps of tree-top foliage burn scarlet and orange. The stately Belknap Range always wallpapers the view as you weave through woodlands, open pastures, and along rivers and streams.

Bursting with history, the region features sites such as Wakefield Corner, a village that boasts twenty-six buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Or journey through your own history at the Museum of Childhood; this fun museum displays an outstanding private collection of toys, dolls, dollhouses, stuffed animals, puppets, and music boxes.

Attractions - The Branch River Valley Trail is known for it's Cultural, Historical, Natural, Recreational and Scenic Attractions.

Directions from : This byway travels along Routes 16, 125, 153 and other local roads from Milton to Wakefield. To reach the byway from Rochester, take Route 125 northward to Milton. From Farmington, take Route 75 eastward to Milton.
