Description - This winding, hilly route follows the Ohio River, which has had tremendous impact on this area's history. The route offers a pleasant escape from suburban concerns as it passes villages, well-kept barns, vineyards, and orchards. Historic architecture along the way retains a charm that is missing from modern development.
Here, tucked away in the very toe of southwestern Indiana, are swamps full of water lilies and rare birds. The most rugged part of the Ohio River Scenic Route features rock outcroppings, forested hills, caves, and scenic waterways. The limestone bluffs (dotted with cave entrances) are abundant with wildlife.

Directions from : To travel the byway itself, head west on U.S. 50, SR-56, SR-62, SR-66, SR-662, I-164, and SR-62. Any portion of the route is easily accessed by Interstates 64 and 65.
