Description - Northstar-at-Tahoe is one of Lake Tahoe's premier year-round destination resorts. Northstar offers opportunities from winter skiing to summer golf, in addition to conference space and on-site lodging.

Attractions - Winter at Northstar offers 2,420 acres of mountain adventure. For the expert skier or snowboarder, Northstar's new Lookout Mountain provides 200 acres of advanced terrain with spectacular views of Truckee's Martis Valley. Nighttime fun continues at Polaris Park, Northstar's evening adventure park.

Summer at Northstar is an alpine retreat of mild temperatures and a myriad of activities. For groups of up to 200, Northstar's banquet facilities accommodate business meetings, family reunions and weddings.

On-site condominiums and vacation homes, a central village with shops and restaurants, a swim and racquet club, and complimentary on-site shuttle service add to the convenience of a Northstar getaway.

Recreation - Winter at Northstar brings 2,420 acres of snow and terrain for skiing and snowboarding. Other winter opportunities at Northstar include tubing, snowmobile tours, cross-country skiing, and playing on a variety of snowtoys.

Summer visitors can play the 18-hole championship golf course or ride over 100 miles of trails at the mountain bike park. Challenge yourself at the Adventure Ropes Course, enjoy flyfishing at Sawmill Lake, or relax to the music of a concert performance in the Village. Northstar also offers hiking trails, horseback riding and ATV off-road tours.

Climate - Changeable weather conditions are common in the Lake Tahoe Basin throughout the year. Winter storms may occur from September through June, with heavy snow accumulations likely. Many of the ski resorts expect an average of over 450 inches of snow annually and can stay open until June. Sunny, summer skies may cloud over quickly with thundershowers, catching some people by surprise. Weather may also vary or change rapidly from lake-level (6,225 ft) to mountain peaks (10,880 ft).

Location - Northstar is located northwest of Lake Tahoe, between Lake Tahoe and Truckee. It is 40 miles from Reno, 96 miles from Sacramento, and 196 miles from San Francisco. Take Interstate 80 to Truckee and Highway 267, then follow 267 south for six miles.

Directions from Reno: Take Interstate 80 west to Truckee and Highway 267, then follow 267 south for six miles.

Directions from Sacramento: Take Interstate 80 east to Truckee and Highway 267, then follow 267 south for six miles.
