General Information

Description - Tahoe Donner Ski Area is committed to being "The best place for family fun and learning." Wide-open bowls, uncrowded slopes, great beginner terrain, excellent grooming, and a friendly, courteous staff await you. Tahoe Donner's size allows them to deliver that personal touch that the larger ski areas can't always provide.

Attractions - You will find one quad chairlift, one double chairlift and one surface lift accessing 14 runs with over 120 skiable acres. Tahoe Donner also has lesson for all ages 3 and up for all abilities, along with a Terrain Park consisting of over 15 individual features.

There is also sledding during weekends and holidays periods at our Snowplay Area located at the Trout Creek Recreation Center. You can contact the Snowplay Area at (530) 587-9437.

Recreation - Throughout the season, kids ages 7-12 are able to get a free 90-minute group lesson with the purchase of an all day lift ticket. Offer valid Tuesday's through Thursday's, non-holiday periods only.

Led by veteran instructor Ernie Grey, seniors (ages 55 years and older) learn how to ski easier and more effectively both at Tahoe Donner and at other Tahoe area ski resorts on specified "Ski Away" days.

Climate - Changeable weather conditions are common in the Lake Tahoe Basin throughout the year. Winter storms may occur from September through June, with heavy snow accumulations likely. Many of the ski resorts expect an average of over 450 inches of snow annually and can stay open until June. Sunny, summer skies may cloud over quickly with thundershowers, catching some people by surprise. Weather may also vary or change rapidly from lake-level (6,225 ft) to mountain peaks (10,880 ft).

Location - You'll discover Tahoe Donner in the upper reaches of Truckee. It is within 5 miles of Donner Lake and less than 20 miles from Lake Tahoe.
