Report: Crystal Lake DOES NOT have a 30 acre lake as described. The lake is in fact about 3 acres. There is one old fishing dock in very bad disrepair. There is no longer a beach and swimming is not recommended. Crystal Lake has become overgrown with aquatic weeds and is suffocating itself. The water level is now very shallow due to several years of local drought. The campgrounds and roads are poorly maintained but the park is patrolled regularly by the Sheriff's Department. A Nebraska Park Permit is required to enter the park and a day-visit pass is available on site via the honor system. Fishing results are always minimal and picnic facilities lack any upkeep. Public restrooms are on site but: USER BEWARE.
