Description - Stagecoach State Park is located in Egeria Park along the Yampa River among the lands of the Routt National Forest in north central Colorado. The focal point of activity in this park is the 780 surface-acre lake. This site is open year round for overnight use.<

Stagecoach State Park
- P>The facilities surrounding Stagecoach Lake include four campgrounds with 100 campsites. As you enter the park from the west the campgrounds lie on the northwestern shore of the lake. Junction City Campground lies on the lake shore and can accommodate large RVs with electrical hookups. McKinley Campground, located near the park entrance, is a group facility available by reservation.
The park also provides 20 picnic sites for visitors, which are located on the northwestern and southeastern shores. A swim beach, marina and boat ramp are located on the northern shore of the lake. Immediately across from the marina is another boat launching area. Please contact park rangers for boating and water-sport regulations.
Recreation - Recreation at Stagecoach State Park is centered upon the 775 surface-acre reservoir. Boating is popular with water skiing and jet skiing permitted in the northeast portion of the lake. The southwestern corner of the lake is reserved for wakeless boating.
Fishing for rainbow, brook, brown and Snake River cutthroat trout challenges anglers. Northern pike and Kokanee salmon are also present in the lake. Ice fishing is popular during the winter months at Stagecoach.
Other activities that visitors may enjoy at this site are bird watching, hiking and horseback riding. Approximately five miles of trails are maintained along the south shore. Ice skating, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are accessible for winter visitors.
Climate - Climate conditions in Colorado should be taken seriously throughout the state. Snow and ice are common on roads and trails from mid-October through late April. In the summer months, snow is still possible but less common. Varying conditions throughout a given day can be expected throughout the year. Remember that summer days can typically have beautiful sunny mornings and short sudden thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Stagecoach State Park lies in north central Colorado in the Yampa River Valley. The lake is surrounded by Thorpe Mountain, Blacktail Mountain, Woodchuck Hill and the Green Ridge in Egeria Park. The lands of the Routt National Forest surround the lake and park.
Directions - from Steamboat Springs, go four miles east on U.S. 40, then south on Colorado 131 for five miles to Routt County Road 14. Drive seven miles south and you will be at the park entrance
