Description - Sylvan Lake lies 16 miles south of Eagle among the lands of the White River National Forest. This is a 1427 acre park with a 40 surface-acre lake as the focus of activity. One of western Colorado's best kept secrets, Sylvan Lake State Park is a haven for those who love the outdoors.

surface-acre lake as the focus of activity. This park is described
as peaceful, quiet and a gem. It has two campgrounds on
the northwestern shore that provide tables and grills at each
site, plus access to water, showers and vault toilets. A group
site is available for reservations. There are nine rustic cabins
and three yurts that are available to rent on site, too. The public
lands of the White River National Forest provide access to hiking,
backpacking, horseback riding and mountain biking trails, for
visitors to the park.
Recreation - The focus of activity at this park is Sylvan Lake. It is stocked with rainbow and brook trout. Anglers may use electrically-powered or non-motorized boats on Sylvan Lake. During the winter months visitors enjoy ice fishing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Climate - Climate conditions in Colorado should be taken seriously throughout the state. Snow and ice are common on roads and trails from mid-October through late April. In the summer months, snow is still possible but less common. Varying conditions throughout a given day can be expected throughout the year. Remember that summer days can typically have beautiful sunny mornings and short sudden thunderstorms in the afternoon. Sylvan Lake is located among the lands of the White River National Forest south of Eagle. Brush Creek Road provides access to the lake and the land that surrounds it. The Sawatch Mountain range lies to the east of Sylvan Lake providing a beautiful backdrop.
DIRECTIONS:
TO SYLVAN LAKE, CABINS, CAMPSITES: Take I-70 to Eagle (Exit 147). Turn south and at roundabout take first right. Turn left on Broadway, left on 5th St, right on Capitol. At stop sign, turn left then take first right on Brush Creek Road. Travel south for 10 miles. Visitor Center is on left. At fork in road, stay right and travel 5 miles to the lake, campground and cabins.
TO BRUSH CREEK YURTS: follow above directions until fork in road. Take left fork and travel 4 ½ miles. The Yurts are on left at the top of the switchbacks.
