Evening on the water.
Description - Located on the south bank of the Crooked River, Crooked River State Park comprises 500 acres and offers fine facilities in a beautiful coastal setting. A boat ramp is popular with anglers who often take to the water before sunrise. Visitors may venture to the nearby ruins of the tabby "McIntosh Sugar Works" mill, built around 1825. The mill later was used as a starch factory during the Civil War.

There are 60 tent, trailer, and RV sites, 11 cottages, five picnic shelters and a group shelter, and even an Olympic pool and bathhouse are available to visitors.

Recreation - Crooked River State Park offers camping, picnicking, boating, and saltwater fishing. The swimming and fishing activities make this a wonderful park to explore while visiting Georgia's Colonial Coast.

Climate - Georgia has a warm climate, especially in the southern regions of the state. Expect high temperatures and humidity levels during spring and summer months. The area can offer a relatively warm escape for snow-free outdoor recreation during the winter months.

Location - Crooked River State Park is located in the Coastal Region of southeastern Georgia. To reach the park, go 12 miles east of Kingsland on Georgia Hwy. 40 and then 7 miles north of St. Mary's on Georgia Spur 40.
