Civil War re-enactment at the battlefield
Description - Pickett's Mill is one of the best preserved Civil War battlefields in the nation. The scene of this bloody conflict looks much the same today as it did in 1864. Visitors may travel roads used by Federal and Confederate troops, see earthworks constructed by these men, and walk through the same ravine where hundreds died.

Recreation - The visitor center offers a film and historical exhibits, guests may also visit Civil War Earthworks a the site. There are also hiking trails and picnic areas with shelters.

Climate - Georgia generally experiences mild, comfortable winters and warm to hot, humid summers. Be prepared for occasional cold weather during the winter, especially at the higher elevations in northern Georgia.

Location - Located 5 miles northeast of Dallas off Ga. Hwy. 381 on Tabor Church Rd., accessed by Dallas-Acworth Rd. or Due West Rd.

Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites - There are 54 State Parks in Georgia, located throughout the state. The northern part of the state has the most parks with a high concentration along the coast as well.
Georgia's Historic Sites -
Piedmont Region - This area is located in the north-central part of the state and is bisected by I-20, which passes through Atlanta and on to Augusta.
