Description - Harmonie State Park is located approximately
25 miles northwest of Evansville,
and 4 miles south of New Harmony in
Posey County, Indiana. The topography
varies from flat flood plains along the Wabash
River to rolling hills in the camping

Harmonie State Park
- The facilities at Harmonie rank among
the best in the state. Eight picnic areas,
some of which have shelter houses, playground
equipment, and running water are
located in scenic areas throughout the
park. The Wabash River picnic area gives
the visitor a chance to view the Wabash at
its finest. The camping facilities include a
200 site family campground with electrical
hook-ups and modern restrooms, as well
as a youth group area in a more primitive
setting. The olympic size swimming pool
is the most popular spot for the young at
heart, while nature enthusiasts enjoy the
summer Naturalist programs, hiking trails or riding their bikes.
Recreation - Visitors to Harmonie State Park can enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, camping, horseback riding, interpretive programs, picnicking and swimming.
Climate - Visitors to this state can expect hot and humid summer days that often reach 90 degrees F in July and August. Summer nights bring little relief with an average temperature of 70. Winter can be extremely cold in this Midwestern state with a yearly average of 40 inches of snow and low temperatures dipping to negative 15 degrees F. Winter daytime highs average close to 40 degrees. Spring and fall are excellent times to visit Indiana spring brings blooming wildflowers and daytime highs of 65 degrees F. With falls mild temperatures the leaves in the forested southern regions of the state change to brilliant hues.
Harmonie State Park is located "on the banks of the Wabash" 25 miles northwest of Evansville. The park entrance is located off of S.R. 69.
