Metamora-Hadley Recreation Area encircles the placid Lake Minnewanna.

Description - Metamora-Hadley Recreation Area is located in Lapeer County consisting of 723 acres with 80-acre Lake Minnewanna in the center. Gently rolling hills encircle the placid lake providing outdoor enthusiasts with a variety park experiences from hiking, lake swimming, paddling, and fishing. The park is in close proximity Seven Ponds Nature Center, Crossroads Village, Frankenmuth, and Silver Saddle Riding Stables.
Attractions
- There are 214 campsites along Lake Minnewanna. The campground offers modern restroom facilities, hot showers, and flush toilets. Each site features electricity, firepits, and picnic tables. A camp store is located at the entrance of the campground. The day use area consists of a marked swimming beach, concession, boat and paddleboat rentals, picnic shelter, and a universally accessible fishing pier. Lake Minnewanna provides recreation for boaters and fishermen. There is a boat launch on the lake and for those without a boat, boats and canoes can be rented at the concession between Memorial Day and Labor Day. There are three fishing piers located on the lake. Over two-thirds of the park is available for hunting. The park offers the hunter a chance at taking both small and big game. Maps showing areas open to hunting should be obtained at the park headquarters. State regulations apply. The hiker will find over 6 miles of marked hiking trails that meander through the woods and fields of the park. Winter activities can include hiking, semi-modern camping, ice fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling (if there is 4" of snow).

Metamora-Hadley-Nature Trails - 6 (Miles), Hiking, Cross Country Ski Climate - Southeast Michigan is the warmest region in the state with summer temperatures averaging 70 degrees F (above 21 degrees C) but it is not infrequent for days to reach the high 80s. Winter temperatures are warmer as well with averages hovering just below freezing. Yearly moisture amounts range between 18 - 32 inches. Location -
