Description - Port Crescent State Park is located at the tip of Michigan's "thumb" along three miles of sandy shoreline of Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay. Some of the modern campsites offer a waterfront view, either of the Bay or the Old Pinnebog River channel. Port Crescent recently added a new camper cabin which sleeps six and has a scenic view of Saginaw Bay. A wooden boardwalk parallels the day-use shoreline offering many scenic vistas of Saginaw Bay. The park also offers excellent fishing, canoeing, hiking, cross-country skiing, birding, and hunting opportunities.
Attractions
- Port Crescent State Park has a modern 181-site campground with a waterfront view of Lake Huron and Pinnebog River. Each site comes equipped with electric hookup, fire ring, and picnic table. The camping facilities are open April 1 to December 1 with modern bathhouses closing November 1. Three miles of sandy shore provide the perfect sunbathing, swimming, and fishing location. A 900-foot boardwalk and five picnic decks offer scenic vistas from the top of sand dunes in the day use area. Hiking trails (over 5 miles) are open to cross-country skiers in winter. Contact the park office for information about area ski rentals and the wintertime candlelight ski tours.

Port Crescent-Organization Area Trail - 2.5 (Miles), Hiking, Cross Country Ski Climate - Saginaw Bay has mild to warm summers with temperatures averaging above 70 degrees F (above 21 degrees C). Winter temperatures average 18 to 22 degrees F (-8 to -6 degrees C). This is the driest region in the state with yearly precipitation amounts hovering around 28 inches. Location -
