Lake Lowndes fishing
Description - Whether it's winding your way down a nature trail or relaxing by an open fire, state parks are some of Mississippi's best outdoor recreation opportunities.

Attractions - Mississippi State Parks offer great areas to camp, fish and hike as well as learn about various historical sites.

Recreation - From fishing for Largemouth bass in Natchez Lake to playing a round of golf at LeFleur's Bluff, each park offers a refreshingly unique getaway. Mississippi State Parks offer a range of outdoor recreation activities including boating, water skiing, sailing, picnicking, hiking, camping, fishing, swimming, viewing historic sites, and sightseeing.

Climate - Mississippi lies mainly in the subtropics. The climate is mild with the coldest months experiencing low temperatures near 40 degrees F. Summer temperatures frequently reach 100 degrees F, with coastal breezes providing cooling relief. Humidity is highest in August and September reaching an average close to 90%. The highest rainfall comes during the spring months, but December and January are wet, too. Expect temperatures in the northeastern region to be somewhat cooler than the rest of the state.

Location - Mississippi State Parks are situated throughout the state of Mississippi. Driving instructions and a map are available on the individual wildernet pages describing each park.

Report: The campsites are kept up very nicely. The bath houses are also clean and kept up very nicely. The only thing I did not like is'' There is a $5.00 adult $3.00 charge to use the swimming pool. This is not per day, this is per session (twice a day). It would seem that they could come up with something better than that for the weekend campers (a fee for the whole weekend). For our family it was $38.00 per day. 2 adults and 3 children. We were camping 3 familys together (3 sites) 12 people. Need I say that we had the pool to ourselves most of the time although the park was full with campers as well as day people. I guess we were not the only ones that found the price a little high. This park is a very friendly place with a large playground. I loved going there. Thank You
