- Two major attractions are Fort Bragg Army Base and Pope Air Force Base. Fort Bragg is open for tours, whereas Pope Air Force Base is generally closed to the public but special group tours may be arranged. The area offers The 82nd Airborne War Memorial Museum, The John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Museum, the Fayetteville Museum of Art and the Museum of the Cape Fear. Cultural offerings include: Cape Fear Regional Theater, Fort Bragg Playhouse, Dogwood Festival, International Folk Festival and the Olde Fayetteville by Candlelight Tour.

Raven Rock State Park
Recreation - The area offers many outdoor recreation opportunities including Jones Lake State Park, Lumber River State Park, Weymouth Woods State Park and the Uwharrie National Forest. These areas offer camping, terrific fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and picnicking opportunities.
Climate - Winter daytime temperatures range from 40 to 44 degrees Fahrenheit (4 to 7 Celsius). Summer daytime temperatures range from 78 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26 to 27 Celsius). The state has a fairly wet climate with an average precipitation for this area averaging 48-52 inches (122-132 centimeters).
