Description
- The lakes and reservoirs in North Carolina range from huge reservoirs to small lakes. Many of the lakes are surrounded by campgrounds, picnic areas and trails. Some of the larger lakes have State Parks along their shores while others fall within the National Forest lands. Lake Waccamaw, Kerr Lake, Lake Norman and Fontana Lake offer fresh water recreation in every corner of the state.
Recreation - These lakes and reservoirs offer varying opportunities depending on their size and level of development. Opportunities include boating, water skiing, fishing, swimming, camping, picnicking and hiking.
