General Information

Description - The Kellys Slough NWR is located in Grand Forks County in northeastern North Dakota, within an area formed by glacial Lake Agassiz, better known as the Red River Valley.

Several wetland enhance projects have been constructed to enhance waterfowl production and shorebird use of the area. Water that flowed through Kellys Slough NWR each spring prior to the project can now be stored and managed for flood control and to enhance wildlife habitat.
