Description - The Nevada BLM lands range from cliff dominate-river channels, sweeping panoramas from high-elevation pinyon-juniper mountains to stark and expansive white playas, geologic wonders, and wide-open spaces. This diverse and beautiful land holds dozens of fishing areas, hundreds of trails, picnic sites and developed and primitive camping opportunities for you to explore and enjoy.

- The Nevada BLM lands have six distinct field offices, these include, the Winnemucca Field Office, Battle Mountain Field Office, Elko Field Office, Ely Field Office, Las Vegas Field Office and the Carson City Field Office. Each Field Office has unique characteristics in which to participate in varied recreational opportunities.
Recreation - Facilities available in the Bureau of Land Management Field Offices include, wildlife viewing, bird watching, scenic viewing, camping, fishing, picnicking, mountain biking, OHVs, historical sites, hunting, water sports, winter sports and scenic driving. Climate - Most of the acreage of Nevada lies within the desert. The climate is hot and dry most of the year. The southern area of the state surrounding Las Vegas is true to this description throughout the year. Temperatures during the summer months often reach 115 degrees F. Winters are warm with cool nights and a more pleasant time to visit the region. Because the Great Basin lies at a higher elevation the area receives cold winter weather with snow that remains for months. Seven inches of rain falls in the region annually, although run off from the surrounding mountains contributes to the water availability. Location -
